House of Jasmine is a contemporary Cantonese restaurant located within Citygate Outlets, Tung Chung. The project reinterprets traditional Chinese architectural and spatial elements through a modern, abstract lens. The restaurant spans over 5,300 square feet and seats 180 diners, offering a variety of seating typologies including banquet rounds, booth settings, and semi-private corners.

One of the defining features of the space is the striking double-height dining hall, framed by full-height glass façades that flood the interior with natural light and create a strong connection to the surrounding urban landscape. A sculptural, lattice-like ceiling installation—evocative of Hong Kong’s dear bamboo scaffolding—cascades through the volume, creating a dynamic sense of scale and structure. This grid of timber poles, suspended in layers, forms both a visual and spatial framework that anchors the restaurant’s identity.

Material selection and palette pay homage to traditional Chinese aesthetics while maintaining a contemporary clarity. Pale timber finishes, soft gold tones, and tactile fabrics are balanced with terrazzo-inspired flooring and handcrafted details. Bespoke lighting is integrated with the architectural grid, casting warm glows that animate the space throughout the day and evening.

The dining environment is designed to be fluid and welcoming. Open plan areas encourage visibility and a sense of theatre, while partitioned zones provide pockets of privacy for family-style dining. Colourful accents in the upholstery—muted greens, cinnabar reds, and soft jade—are inspired by Chinese porcelain and provide subtle cultural cues.

House of Jasmine presents a design narrative that merges modern restraint with historical resonance. It is an elegant, elevated interpretation of Cantonese dining—contemporary in expression yet rooted in heritage, delivering a refined spatial experience for both local guests and international visitors.
